Overview

Greenwich Hospital is a 174-bed community hospital, serving lower Fairfield County Connecticut and Westchester County New York. It is a major academic affiliate of Yale University School of Medicine and a member of the Yale New Haven Health System.

Since opening in 1903, Greenwich Hospital has evolved into a progressive medical center and teaching institution with an internal medicine residency.

We represent all medical specialties and offer a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic and wellness programs. High quality of care, coupled with Greenwich Hospital's convenient location, are reasons many patients choose to be treated here. (Please visit the Medical Services section in this web site for more information on services related to specific medical specialties.)

In the fall of 2005, Greenwich Hospital completed construction on its main campus with the opening of the Thomas and Olive C. Watson Pavilion. Combined with the Helmsley Medical Building, which opened in 1999, the state-of-the-art facility is a model in advanced healthcare design. The new Greenwich Hospital [view campus map] offers far more comfort and convenience for patients and visitors—and greater efficiency for our staff. In the Sherman and Gloria H. Cohen Pavilion, across the street on Lafayette Place, is the Bendheim Cancer Center, a comprehensive Breast Center, and convenient parking for outpatients. Greenwich Hospital also has an Endoscopy Center at 500 W. Putnam Ave., and a Healthy Living Center and IVF services at 55 Holly Hill Lane. On the Stamford-Greenwich border at 2015 W. Main Street are our Diagnostic Center and our community wellness department, Community Health at Greenwich Hospital.

Why Choose Greenwich Hospital

More patients are choosing Greenwich Hospital as their hospital of choice, according to a recent comparison of hospital admissions.

Why
Personalized, advanced care.
We are small enough to treat each patient in a caring, personalized way, yet large enough to offer the most advanced diagnostics and treatments possible. Our strong tradition of medical excellence coupled with our affiliation with the Yale New Haven Health System bring world-class innovation, research and technology to each one of our patients.

Excellent physicians. Our physicians, educated at the country's leading medical schools, continue to advance their knowledge by training the next generation of medical school students. They also participate in educational seminars for the public, willingly sharing their knowledge and helping you stay well.

New facility. Our sparkling new facility, features large, sunlit waiting areas and spacious patient rooms. From the moment you enter the three-storied atrium lobby, you know you are in a different type of hospital atmosphere. Most patient rooms are private with large windows overlooking grassy lawns or trees. In fact, the entire hospital-from a convenient diagnostic center on the first floor to the maternity/nursery suite on the third floor-is designed to make your experience as positive as possible.

Friendly, professional staff. Our friendly service and attention to detail make patients feel they are treated like a person, rather than a diagnosis. From the moment our employees begin working at Greenwich Hospital, they participate in quality training and are encouraged to continuously improve the care they deliver to patients. They treat you the way they themselves would want to be treated.

Quality. Our focus on quality results in top marks in surveys by national accrediting organizations, making Greenwich Hospital a model for other hospitals.
